How to help at home:

Children need to be practising their handwriting. At school, we use the vocabulary ‘lead in’ and ‘lead out’ to join one letter to another . Letters written in cursive should be joined and parallel to one another. We use the terms monkey, giraffe and tortoise to describe the size and whether the letters sit above or below the line.

Times tables is a big focus at school too. It would be great if children were practising their times tables at home and begin to answer questions quickly without having to work them out.

Please make sure children are learning and practising their spellings.

Thank you for your support.
